Victories and Defeats

In the last couple days I have experienced high victories and low
defeats. It always amazes me that I always learn more from the defeats
than I do from the victories. I read a proverb the other day 16:17, it says
that the highway of the upright avoids evil, and he who guards his way
guards his life. When I read it and started to memorize it, it was like a
big flashing neon sign. A truth that I swear I have known forever but
now see it fresh. one of the keys to victory over sin is avoidance. Just like
Joseph running from the wife of potiphar, I need to run, avoid sin at all costs
but why? Because the next lines shows me why. He who guards his way
guards his life. Basically avoiding sin equals guarding your way which equals
protecting your life. Not avoiding sin means not guarding your way or your
life which only has one final summation, the loss of something in your life.
